Tuesday training

November 30, 2010

This Tuesday’s session is in the old AU office, down the corridor on level 1 and opposite squash court 3. As last week, please try and arrive promptly so we can sort out laying the temporary mats.

Last week’s sessions were good despite the inconvenient location so don’t be shy, come down and get out of the cold.

We have the next Southampton/Solent/Winchester triangular session this sunday so make a note in your diary and come down on Tuesday and Thursday to get ready for it!

See you tomorrow!

Training this sunday

November 27, 2010

Sunday training tomorrow will be a visit to Solent at St Marys sports centre again. The session is 1730, let me know if you want a lift or directions

Thursday training, room update

November 24, 2010

Hi folks,

The martial arts room continues to be out of action – it is getting a new floor and a completely new set of mats, we’ve not been given a schedule but it seems likely that it will be at least a fortnight before this is all sorted out.

In the meantime, we had a successful session in squash court 3 last night and we will do the same thing on Thursday.

Squash court 3 is down towards the end of the main level 1 corridor on the left.

Please turn up promptly as we need to get the mats in when the room is available at 8pm and get going quickly before the booking ends at 9.20.

See you there!

Training this week

November 23, 2010

Tonight (Tuesday) and Thursday we have Squash Court 3 booked as the Martial Arts room is still out of action. We will run both sessions for all comers so beginners are welcome tonight.

Please try and arrive promptly to help get the mats sorted out.

On Sunday we will go and visit Solent again in St Marys.

Training tonight, sunday, and Tuesday

November 18, 2010

Hi guys.

There will be no training tonight due to the lack of a suitable room. However on sunday we will be trainning at st mary’s leasuire center with solent uni. This session will be a begginners session, but it would be nice to get lots of bodies there ready for the next triangular. Its £2 to get in with a student card, and the coach there is called Lance. If you have any problems drop and email to judo@soton.ac.uk. Training on Tuesday will be in meeting room 2 (the old AU office) again. Sunday training starts at 5.30.

Martial arts room out of action

November 15, 2010

Hi all,

Sadly i have some bad news. The martial arts room has had some problems recently, and they’ve only got worse so the room is out of action for the time being. This means there will be no training until we can either sort out somewhere else to train or the AU/Uni sort out the room. I’ll keep you posted as i hear more news on the matter. For the time being keep your eye on the mailing list for alternative sessions with other clubs.

*** Update *** 16/11/10 11:03

We are looking into getting some mats in a squash court – I will let everyone know if we’re successful. Matt

*** Update *** 16/11/10 13:36

I’m waiting for a confirmation but it looks like judo will be on tonight in squash court 3 at 8-9.20. Unfortunately we need to put mats down so if people could turn up 10 mins early that would be great. The session will be mainly theory. (i’ll make sure i update this when its definite)

*** Update *** 16/11/10 14:29

Ok, all sorted. No training Thursday as it stands and there is a session tonight in squash court 3 at 8 till 9.20. Please could people turn up promptly to help with mats. Thanks!

Session cancellations

November 11, 2010

Hi Folks,

Late news about session cancellations – the Martial Arts Suite is suffering with a leak again, the room is closed today while they try to sort this out and dry things out. Thie means no Judo tonight (thursday 11th) – sorry!

Also, I am away on Sunday so there will be no session that day either. To get your Sunday exercise fix why not visit one of the other clubs training on a Sunday:

Southampton Solent Uni train at St Marys Leisure Centre, see info on their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=156567174367580

Or Eastleigh Judokwai at Fleming Park leisure centre are always welcoming. See info on our website for details of their session.
