Hey Guys and Gals,
Wednesday saw the AU ball and the colours awards, of which Judo got a few! So I’ve collected these from the AU and will be handing them out on Tuesday.
Come along on Tuesday to see who got what! (Oh, and for training, obviously 😀 )
May 1, 2011
I hope everyone had a good holiday away from work, and are ready for the final stint of the academic year. Tuesday see’s the first training session back after Easter, and so I expect to see everyone there to burn off all that chocolate!
I imagine everyone has lots of work building up, all to be handed in soon (well i know i have!), so a few sessions of Judo a week are a perfect de-stress distraction!
Anyway, with the end of the year closing I thought it would be a good idea to look back at what we’ve accomplished:
Over the weekend of 19th and 20th of March the club attended BUCS achieving two medals in the individual category:
Matthew Vincent: Bronze (u90kg Kyu grade)
Heraclito Da Silva: Bronze (u78 Kyu grade)
The Hampshire Closed competition took place on the 6th of March, where we received a gold medal:
Andrew Douglass: Gold (u81kg Dan grade)
Nathaniel Farmer: Bronze (u90kg Dan grade)
Saturday the 12th of February saw the London Universities Open 2011, where the club achieved 4 medals:
Matthew Vincent: Silver (u90kg Kyu grade)
Heraclito Da Silva: Silver (u73kg Kyu grade)
Morgan Haxby: Silver (u60kg Kyu grade)
Lachlan Douglas: Silver (u66kg Kyu grade)
On top of that nice bunch of medals, we’ve also gained some links with solent and winchester, in the form of triangular events (of which there is another round the corner, more news to come).
Anyway, enough from me, see you at training!
