Don’t forget that the sunday session starts at 5.30pm this week! See you there.
The first full Sunday training session of the new year is this coming Sunday (Oct 9th) in the Martial Arts Suite.
This session is an intermediate level – ie. not for absolute beginners but if you have a judo suit and know your basics, get on down.
Our beginners course starts today (October 6) at 8pm in the Martial Arts Suite on the bottom floor of the Students Union.
For complete beginners our Thursday session assumes no judo knowledge at all and will get you started in judo in no time at all, teaching you first how to fall safely then working through basic throwing, grappling and submission techniques over the course of the first term.
Aside from the fact that judo is great fun we are also probably one of the least expensive martial arts clubs to join. Membership of the club is £30 for the year and for beginners a promotion from British Judo means you get membership of British Judo (including insurance), a judo suit and your first grading for just £6.
Everyone gets to come to 2 sessions for free so the easiest way to find out if Judo is for you is just to come along and have a go. For beginners we have spare jackets that we provide but if you can wear a tough long sleeve top such as rugby top or sweat shirt and a pair of jogging trousers that is perfect.
Hope to see you there!
First Tuesday judo session of the new academic year is tonight. Usual time, 8pm.
Hope to see lots of you there, we have had quite a lot of interest from new people so hopefully it will be a good session
If you are interested in finding out more about judo at the university we will be holding a demo today at 5pm in the Martial Arts Suite which can be found on the ground floor of the Students Union. Come along and see what its all about!
